It’s no surprise that when I chose a college, I decided to venture to one of the country's best food cities-Portland, OR. While we definitely had our typical college ramen and mac and cheese eating nights, my friends and I got to experience all that the Portland food scene had to offer. From food truck culture to two hour waits for brunch and everything in between. Aside from the food tours that made up my weekends, like most college students I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life (and my comm degree). One thing I never thought could be an option was working in the food world. I didn’t think I wanted to be a chef or open a restaurant and at that point I didn’t know what other options would be.
