Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work with clients in two ways 1. Ongoing retainers and 2. One-time projects. We can discuss what option is the best fit for you.

  • I’m so glad you asked! Everyone in PR will have a different answer but here is mine: Public Relations is essentially using multiple strategies including media relations to share your brand's story, position your brand and protect your brand.

  • First of all, you are already asking yourself the right questions! The truth is, not every brand is ready or optimized to have a successful PR campaign. There is a lot of nuance here but here are a few things to keep in mind. However, every brand is unique. Let's chat and see if there is a fit.

  • Absolutely not. And before you run away and say “Oh my goodness who does this girl think she is,” keep reading. The only time media coverage will be guaranteed is if you pay for it-essentially advertising! It doesn’t matter how great your relationship is to the writer or editor, you could be married to the editor of the New York Times and still not get your client a feature. Any person or agency who promises you press or a certain amount of media mentions is either lying or paying for it-run the other way. What I will say is that I do not accept clients that I’m not confident I can help garner media mentions so if I take you on as a client that’s always top of mind.

  • For my PR retainers, clients pay before the start of each month. For one-time copywriting projects like Website Copy or Package Copy you can pay half upfront and half before delivery or all upfront. I’m always happy to discuss specific payment questions on a case by case basis.

  • Most of my clients opt for direct deposit or bank transfers. We can definitely discuss what option makes the most sense for you.

  • I ask that all clients give me their feedback and notes on our drafts within 72 hours so we can stay on track. If there is a reason that isn’t possible we can come up with a plan together.

  • Me, myself and I! No bouncing around or wondering whose hands your business is in or worrying if someone doesn't “get” your brand enough. It’s all me. I’ll be the one getting on calls with you, the one researching and developing media lists, the one managing media relations, the one writing and editing the copy etc… This is one perk to working with an independent contractor vs a large agency-no being juggled or playing games of telephone.
